First Kings 18:42

So Ahab got up and ate and drank. But Elijah went up to the top of Carmel and bent down over the ground with his head between his knees.[The usual position for prayer was standing or kneeling. Here Elijah knelt and then lowered his head to the ground, between his knees, until his forehead touched the ground. He assumes a posture reminiscent of that of a woman giving birth.]
