Exodus 11:5

and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die. From the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne to the firstborn of the maidservants at the mill, together with all the firstborn of the cattle. [In this plague, it is Pharaoh himself who is challenged. Pharaoh was one of the highest gods in Egypt, together with the goddess Isis, who was the protector of children. When it says all firstborn, it applies regardless of age. So it is not only children who die, but also older people who are firstborn in their families. See also Heb. 11:28]
