Proverbs 27:6

The wounds caused by a friend are done with a purpose (they are well-meaning, have a purpose, and can be trusted),
but the kisses of an enemy are many and misleading.
[If you only hear compliments, which here are likened to kisses, they are not genuine; a friend always tells the truth.]
