Hebrews 5:7

While he [Jesus] lived here in the flesh [on earth as a human being], he cried out in tears as he prayed (prayers for special needs) and called upon (asked for protection from) the one who could save (rescue) him from death [to rise to eternal life after the cross], and he was heard because of his godliness [willingness to worship God and submit to God's will].
