First letter of Peter 3:18

For the Anointed One (Messiah, Christ) suffered (was tortured) for [your – plural] sins,
once and for all,
a righteous (innocent)
for the unrighteous (guilty),
to bring you to God –
[Jesus was] put to death in the body,
but made alive by the Spirit.
