First Samuel 7:3

And Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you return to the Lord (Yahweh) with all your heart, and remove the foreign gods and Asherahs [poles for idol worship] from among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord (Yahweh) and serve him only, then he will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines."
