The residents of Chanons and Zanoachs repaired the Dal Gate [in the southwest]. They built it and installed its doors, its door frames, and its bars. They also repaired 1,000 cubits [450 meters] of the wall up to the Dung Gate [in the southern part of the City of David]. [The modern Dung Gate is located near the southwest corner of the Temple Mount and dates from the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century CE.]
