The punishment (warning) he has received from the majority is sufficient.
[The vast majority of the members of the church in Corinth had followed Paul's advice and distanced themselves from the man and his actions, see 1 Cor. 5:1–6. The goal is always restoration, see Gal. 6:1–2. Paul's clarity and strict correction in love had produced results. The man had repented.]
