[Here, Hebr. kedem is used for east. It is a rich word that not only has the meaning of a cardinal direction but is also used to denote when a person takes stock of their life and looks both backward and forward. We get to come to terms with what has been and see visions and plan for the future in this direction. There are also many other things associated with the east, such as the sunrise with all its typologies, the morning star in the east, and so on.]
