Esther 3:9

If it pleases the king, let it be written that they will be destroyed. I will pay ten thousand talents of silver in the hand of those who manage the king’s affairs and bring it to the king’s treasury.”
[This is a huge sum, equivalent to two-thirds of the kingdom’s annual tax revenue (based on the contemporary Greek historian Herodotus’ account in his Historia, 3.95). It is possible that Haman intended to pay from his own resources, or more likely, from the spoils of the Jewish people, see Est. 4:7.]
