For behold, the wicked (ungodly, evil) [who actively distance themselves from God, hate His commandments, see Ps. 10:2–11] bend their bows,
they have put the arrow on the string and aim,
to shoot at them in the dark (in secret)
with sincere hearts (honest and pure hearts, the righteous, literally "straight-hearted").
