They [the idols, see verse 1] know nothing, they understand nothing,
they wander about in darkness.
The foundations of the whole earth are moved (shaken).
[This verse indicates that the cosmic consequences of injustice are great—the foundations of the earth are shaken! What happens in the highest heavenly world has repercussions on earth.]
