Exodus 17:7

He named the place "Massa" and "Meriva," because the Israelites had quarreled [with Moses and God] and because they had tested (tried) the Lord, saying, "Is the Lord with us or not?" [The Hebrew word massa means to tempt and test. The word meriva means to quarrel, to provoke.]
