Exodus 20:7

You shall not take (use; literally: "lift up", "carry") the name of the Lord (Yahweh) in vain (literally: “lift up,” “bear”).
The Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
[This commandment has often been reduced to not mentioning God’s name in a frivolous manner, not swearing, or not bearing false witness under oath. To “bear” the Lord’s name means not blaspheming his name, but the emphasis lies on not misrepresenting him and his character. This could be described as “religious evil” committed in God’s name. If an ungodly person commits evil deeds, that is bad. When someone who claims to believe in God commits the same evil deed and says it is in God’s name, that person not only commits evil but also damages people’s view of God. One does not need to have a Christian faith to commit this offense. An Islamist who, in God’s name, shouts Allahu akbar (“God is greater” in Arabic) and murders makes it harder for people to believe that there could be a good God. One of the most common arguments against the Christian faith is precisely the violation of this commandment committed by crusaders in the past, or today by Islamists.]
