Proverbs 17:17

A friend (neighbour – Hebr. rea) always loves (shows affection at all times) [is faithful, helpful, and self-sacrificing],
a brother is there (born to help) in adversity (distress, hardship – Hebr. tsarah) [in difficult times].
[Here, "a brother" can also refer to someone who is close, regardless of blood ties, see Prov 18:24.]
