Proverbs 21:11

When the arrogant (boastful) are punished,
the foolish (a naive person who has been misled) see this and become wise,
but people with [God's] wisdom learn by receiving instruction.
[The contrast in this verse is between the foolish and the wise. The arrogant person does not change, but when he is rebuked, the foolish person sees this and gains wisdom. However, it is best to have an open heart and receive instruction and become wise that way.]
