As birds fly [hover above their nest and guard it],
so the Lord of hosts (Yahweh Sebaot) [with all his heavenly armies] protects (guards) Jerusalem;
he protects (guards)
and saves, hovers over (Hebr. pasach, see Ex. 12:13, 23, 27; 1 Kings 18:21) and delivers."
