Isaiah 50:2

Why, when I came, was there no one there? Why, when I called, was there no one to answer? Is my hand too short to redeem (liberate – Hebr. pedot) [Isa. 59:1]?
Or do I lack the power to save (deliver)?
Behold, with my rebuke I dry up the sea [Ex. 14:21],
I turn rivers into a desert [Josh. 3:16],
their fish are stranded
because there is no water, and they die of thirst.
