Ezekiel 31:2

Son of man, say to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and to his multitudes:
Who is like you in your greatness [verse 18]?
[Now follows an allegorical story about a stately cedar tree, which is an image of the then-powerful Assyria. Even the most powerful nation can fall to an even greater power. There is also a Mesopotamian myth about a cosmic tree whose roots reach down into the realm of death and whose top reaches the sky, something Ezekiel alludes to here through this parable.]
