Hosea 8:4

They have set up kings
but not from me (without consulting me),
they have made themselves princes
and I do not know them.
[1 Kings 11–12, with a few exceptions such as Jeroboam (1 Kings 11:29–40) and Jehu (2 Kings 9:1–3).]
From their silver and their gold
they have made them,
idols that can be cut down.
