Leviticus 23:3

Work shall be done for six days. The seventh day is the Sabbath for solemn rest, a holy gathering. You shall not do any work. It is the Sabbath of the Lord (Yahweh) wherever you live.
[The Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday evening and ends on Saturday evening one hour after sunset. The evening begins with the lighting of candles and often a prayer service in the synagogue. It is a day when people do not work. They spend time with their families and go to the synagogue. Nowhere in the New Testament are Christians commanded to keep the Sabbath commandment in this way. However, Jesus says that man is not made for the Sabbath, but that the Sabbath is made for man. We need a day of rest, a day to seek God individually and worship.
