And they journeyed from Avrona and camped at Etsjon-Gever.
[Etsjon-Gever was a port city in Edom on the northern coast of the Gulf of Aqaba (Red Sea) in the region around Eilat/Aqaba. Later it became Solomon's main port for worldwide trade, see 1 Kings 9:26. The two most common suggestions are Tell el-Kheleife (in Aqaba) and Coral Island (Pharaoh's Island) 13 km south of Eilat. Hebrew etjson means backbone and gever is a mighty warrior. The name may describe the area with jagged mountain peaks that look like a backbone, or perhaps Coral Island, which sticks up like a backbone.]
