Matthew 14:13

When Jesus heard this [the news of John the Baptist's brutal death and that Herod Antipas thought Jesus was the resurrected John], he left by boat for a lonely place where they could be by themselves.
[They rowed north from Capernaum along the coast to stop somewhere outside the town of Bethsaida, see Luke 9:10.]
But the people heard about it and followed him on foot from the towns [along the road from Capernaum to Bethsaida].
