Matthew 18:9

If your eye causes you to sin [by looking at something that tempts you to sin],
pluck it out and throw it away.
It is better for you to enter life with one eye
than to have two eyes and be thrown into the burning Gehenna (hell).
[Jesus is not teaching self-mutilation, but is saying that it is necessary to remove things that lead us astray, even if they are dear to us.]
