They quickly left the tomb, and filled with awe and great joy, they ran to tell his disciples. [The fact that the women ran and showed both fear and joy shows that they believed the angel's words about Jesus even before they met him as the risen one. Compare this with the disciples' reaction, who did not take the women's words seriously, see Luke 24:1.]
