Mark 1:13

He was in the desert for 40 days and was tempted (tested, evaluated constantly, again and again) by Satan (the adversary). He lived among the wild animals [jackals, wolves, hyenas, leopards], and the angels served him (constantly, time and time again).
[The Hebrew word for desert is midbar, which literally means "place of the word." In Matt. 4:1–11 and Luke 4:1–13, Jesus is tempted to turn stones into bread, throw himself down from the temple, and worship the devil. On each occasion, Jesus responds with the written word.]
