A voice cries out in the wilderness:
Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him!
[The last quotation comes from Isa. 40:3. As was customary at that time, only the greatest prophet Isaiah is mentioned as the main source, even though Malachi is also referred to first.]
