Mark 12:42

A poor widow (so poor that she was dependent on gifts from others, unable to work) came and put in two lepta [two Jewish copper coins of the lowest denomination], which is equivalent to a quadrans [a Roman bronze coin which was the smallest denomination in the western Roman Empire].
Its value was 1/128 of a denarius, which was a worker's daily wage. Since Mark is writing for readers in Rom. and the western part of the Roman Empire, he explains that two "lepta" were equivalent to one "quadrans" (a shilling, see Matt. 5:26). This was the lowest coin value in that part of the Roman Empire, and its value was 1/64 of a denarius.
