Mark 9:1

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste (meet) death until they see the kingdom of God come in [its] power."
[Possible explanations for this verse are that it refers to the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was poured out. However, it is more likely that it is a prediction of the next event a week later, when three of the disciples will see a glimpse of Jesus in his glory in his kingdom, see Mark 9:2–8. It can hardly be a prediction of Jesus' second coming, since Jesus never claimed to know the time of this, see Matt. 24:36. At the Ascension, the disciples pressed him for an answer as to when he would establish the kingdom, but Jesus asked them to focus instead on being useful here and now, see Acts 1:6–8.]
