Luke 15:16

He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs ate, but no one gave him anything.
[Some manuscripts have 'fill his belly with pods'. This reinforces the contrast with his former life of abundance when he could choose to eat the best; now he would eat anything to satisfy his hunger. Sin plunges a person deeper and deeper into misery and degradation.]
