and in it were all kinds of four-footed animals and reptiles and birds of the sky.
[These correspond to the animals taken into Noah's ark, see Gen. 6:20. According to the kosher laws in Lev. 11, certain animals were declared clean and others unclean. Now Peter saw these mixed together. Clean animals such as sheep and cows together with unclean animals such as pigs, bats, lizards, snakes, frogs, toads, and vultures.]
