The Lord's hand was with them (God's presence was evident around them), and a large number came to believe and turned (surrendered, submitted) to the Lord. [Antioch was a multicultural city. Many non-Judes now abandoned their belief in pagan idols such as Apollo, Artemis, Zeus, and Baal.]
