Acts 19:34

But when they realized he was a jew, they all shouted in unison for a couple of hours: "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"
[The Greeks often viewed Christians as a Jewish group. Alexander's purpose may have been to clarify that Paul did not belong to them and to clear the Jewish population. Alexander was a common name, see Acts 4:6; Mark 15:21. Perhaps he is the same person as the coppersmith Alexander whom Paul later mentions in 2 Tim. 4:14, and possibly also in 1 Tim. 1:20.]
