Second letter to the Corinthians 12:5

I want to boast about that man, but I don't want to boast about myself except for my weaknesses.
[Paul "boasted" about these weaknesses in the previous chapter, see 2 Cor. 11:22–30. Paul uses the same word, "weakness," when he describes how he first came to the Corinthians. There, his "weakness" refers to the fact that he did not follow the philosophical rhetorical techniques of the time. The reason was that their faith should not be based on human wisdom but on the power of God, see 1 Cor. 2:3–5.]
