But their minds were hardened (became hard) [they lost the ability to understand], for even today the same veil remains when reading [when each person at the lecture personally reconnects and immerses themselves in] the texts of the old covenant, and it is not lifted, because it [first] disappears in the Anointed One (Messiah, Christ).
