In Seir [southeast of the Dead Sea in Edom] lived the Horites (literally: "cave dwellers" – Hebr. chori), but Esau's sons defeated them and destroyed those who were before them and lived there in their place, as Israel did to the land he possessed, which the Lord (Yahweh) gave to them.
