First letter to Timothy 5:19

[Paul had already mentioned that the church needed to be on guard against those who spoke ill of its leaders, see 1 Tim 3:2, 7. Here are the guidelines for distinguishing between false and genuine accusations. It is the same principle found throughout the Bible with multiple witnesses, see Deut. 19:15; Matt. 18:16.]
Do not bring an accusation against any of the elders unless there are two or three witnesses.
