Joshua 8:18

And the Lord (Yahweh) said to Joshua, "Stretch out the sword (shorter curved sword – Hebr. kidon) that you have in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand." And Joshua stretched out the spear that was in his hand toward the city. [Most likely, the sun reflected off the blade of the sword and gave a flashing signal. The usual Hebrew word for spear chanit is not used here.]
