Daniel 9:12

He kept his words that he had spoken against us and our leaders who ruled over us. [Literally 'judges who judged us', but probably refers to all leaders, see verse 6, who had deliberately led the people away from God.] The Lord brought a great calamity (this evil, suffering) [the ongoing exile] upon us. Nothing like what has happened to Jerusalem has ever happened under heaven. [Jer. 35:17; 36:31]
