Matthew 24:35

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."
[The Greek word for generation, genea, means both "generation" and "people." The same "generation" that heard Jesus utter these words would also witness the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem 40 years later in 70 CE, which must have felt like the end of the Jewish people or even the end of the world. This promise also means that the Jewish people will be preserved as a "people" until Jesus' return, see Jer. 31:35–37.]
