He [the Holy Spirit] is a deposit (guarantee, a seal) of our inheritance until the full repayment of God's property [his people], so that his glory (majesty, splendor) may be praised.
[A seal was the mark that guaranteed that a shipment arrived intact to the recipient; in the same way, the Holy Spirit is the guarantee that we will reach our destination.]
