Esther 9:1

[About 8 months pass between the events of Est. 8:9–14 and Est. 9:1. Sometime in between, Est. 8:15–16 occurs. Here in chapter 9, Mordecai’s decree has now reached all the Jews throughout the Persian Empire, and the day has come for them to defend themselves from the calamity caused by Haman’s proclamation, see Est. 3:9, 13; 8:10–12.]
Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day [March 7, 473 B.C.] the king’s command and his decree would be carried out. The enemies of the Jews had hoped to overcome them on that day, but now it was the other way around - the Jews would overcome them [their enemies] instead.
