Psalms 119:152

From ancient times (behind) I know from your testimonies (Hebr. edot)
that you have established them forever.
["Ancient times" (Hebr. qedem) is used to refer to the east, but it is also an expression for looking both forward and backward, taking stock and gaining vision. The word has the same root as "near" (Hebr. qarov) in the two preceding verses. Verse 150 describes how the enemies are near, yet the psalmist is secure. Yes, the enemies are near, but so is the Lord, see verse 151.]
