Exodus 20:23

You shall not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold; you shall not do so. [In a chiastic pattern, the opening commandment not to have other gods beside God is repeated, see Ex. 20:3–5. It is not only this commandment that is referred to, but it becomes a title for the entire teaching above with the Ten Commandments. The Bible shows that there are things that should not be done and things that should be done when it comes to sacrifices. Now in verse 24, the positive commandments follow with what should be sacrificed.]
