Song of Solomon 8:6

[The bride to her beloved:]
Set me as a signet ring (a seal) upon your heart,
as a signet ring on your arm.
[A signet ring was used to seal documents. It was the most valuable object and the owner wore it constantly around his neck or arm.]
For love is as strong as death,
passion (jealous love) is as unyielding (hard, cruel) as Sheol (the grave, the underworld, the place of the dead) [Sheol comes from Hebr. shaal – to ask for].
Its flames are like flames of fire,
it is a violent flame.
