Ezekiel 38:11

You will say, 'I will march against the land of unwalled villages; I will attack those who live in security, all who live without walls, bars, or gates.
[Until the 18th century, new cities were planned with ring walls. Gates with bars served as defenses until World War I, when new weapons were developed that rendered them ineffective. The old city of Jerusalem was fortified with walls until 1898, when an opening was made in the wall, next to the Jaffa Gate, in preparation for a visit by the German Emperor Wilhelm II.]
