And he said to me, "Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a light thing that the house of Judah has committed the abominations they commit here, filling the land with violence and provoking me even more, and they put the branch to their nose. [The expression may allude to some occult ritual. There is an example of an Assyrian relief of a king holding a flower to his nose while worshipping the stars. The Greek translation Septuagint does not translate literally but more generally "they are mockers." It is probably a proverbial expression to mock God, corresponding to "haveing one's nose in the air" in English.]
