Haggai 2:19

Is the grain still in the barn [from the spring harvest]? [No!]
The vine
and the fig tree
and the pomegranate tree
and the olive tree have not yielded any fruit [this autumn],
but from this day on I will bless you."
[The questions here suggest a negative answer. The grain harvest was brought in during the spring. Sowing is done in the fall and should be completed by this time in December. The time for harvesting fruit is also over. The situation was hopeless: poor harvests, nothing in the barn, and no hope for another harvest. Then God's word comes with the hope of blessing from this day forward.]
