Mark 11:17

He taught them, saying,
"Is it not written [Isa. 56:7]:
'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples (nations).' But you have made it a 'den of robbers' [Jer. 7:11]."
[Only Mark includes the last part, "for all nations," in the quotation from Isaiah; see Matt. 21:13; Luke 19:46. The cleansing of the temple shows both symbolically and practically how Jesus opens up a place for all nations to worship God. The choice of the word "robbers" instead of "thieves" shows that the temple had become a den of organized crime that robbed openly, unlike a thief who steals unnoticed.]
