John 10:34

Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law [Gk. nomos; here referring to the third part of the Scriptures]: 'I have said that you are gods'? [Quote from Ps. 82:6. Different interpretations of this verse were widely discussed among the rabbis in Jesus' time. Most likely, it has to do with the judges or people of Israel being given the authority to perform God's deeds.]
